Frequently asked questions

If the answer is not here, email wanderbadges@gmail.com and a person will reply.

I’m having trouble scanning my sticker

  1. Use the ordinary camera app, not a QR reader. Point it at the code and a link appears at the top of the screen to tap.
  2. Hold the phone about six inches away and keep it still for a second. Good light helps more than anything else.
  3. On a curved surface like a water bottle, come at the code square on rather than at an angle β€” the curve is what usually stops it reading.
  4. Still nothing? The code is printed under the place name. Type wanderbadges.com/pages/ followed by it, straight into a browser.

If none of that works, email wanderbadges@gmail.com with a photograph of the badge and we will send you the link ourselves. A code that will not scan is still a badge that works β€” nothing is lost.

What is a Wander Badge?
An illustrated sticker for a place you have been, with a private code printed on it. Scanning the code opens a page holding the photographs from that trip.
Do I need an app?
No. Point a phone camera at the code and the page opens in the browser. There is nothing to install, nothing to type and nothing to sign into.
How do I add my photos?
Scan the badge and the page offers to set it up. Choose the photographs from your phone and they upload straight from it. You can come back and change them whenever you like.
How many photos can one badge hold?
Up to twenty photographs per badge, and each badge has its own separate gallery.
Are my photos private?
Yes. A gallery is private until you choose to publish it, and you can make it private again at any time. Private galleries are not listed in search engines.
Can several badges share one gallery?
Yes. If you bought six badges for one trip, put the photographs on one and point the others at it. Each badge keeps its own place and artwork and shows the shared photographs, and you can undo it at any time.
What happens if I lose the badge?
The photographs are not on the sticker, so nothing is lost. Sign in with the address you ordered under and every gallery you own is listed under Your badges.
If two people buy the same country, do they share a gallery?
No. Every badge is printed with its own code, so two people who both buy the same place get two entirely separate galleries.
Where can I stick a badge?
They are water resistant and made for water bottles, laptops, luggage and coffee mugs. Hand washing is recommended.
How much are they, and is there a discount for buying several?
Badges are $2.99 each, and every sixth badge is free β€” buy five and get one. Shipping is free on orders over $24.99.
What is a Wander Pack?
Badges bought in advance at a lower price: ten for $24.99 or twenty-five for $49.99. The credits sit on your account, never expire, and you choose the places whenever you are ready.
How long does shipping take?
Badges are printed to order, so allow a few days for production and then standard post. A tracking number is emailed as soon as the parcel leaves.
Do Wander Badges make a good gift for a traveler?
They are made for it. Badges are $2.99 each, so a set of the places somebody has been is an inexpensive gift, and the photographs they add afterwards are the part they keep.
What else can the badges go on?
The same badges can be printed onto a Wander Tumbler (up to six places), a Wander Journal (up to eight across both covers) or a Wander Mug (up to two).
